Tharid (bread soaked in broth) ثريد

In a dream it is a man's life, his living, his earnings and his trade. If he sees a bowl full of tharid or rich with fat, it is an ample worldly life. If he sees a bowl from which he is eating tharid, as much of his life has gone as he has eaten of it, and as much of his life remains as remains of it; and if he finishes it, his life is at an end. If he eats tharid with much fat, it is an office without benefit. If he sees a bowl of tharid with much fat before him and he cannot manage to eat it, he will gather wealth and someone else will consume it. If he sees that he is not eating for fear that it will run out, he has much blessing and a good life and is afraid of dying. If he sees tharid without fat, not tasty, and he eats all of it to be rid of it, he wishes for death because of lack of means and poverty. If the tharid is made with vinegar without meat, it is a clean trade from what is lawful, with piety; and if it is without fat, it is a lowly trade. If the tharid is made with the meat of a beast of prey, it is an office over oppressive, unjust people, with reluctance, fear and apprehension; if there is fat in it, the life and the benefit are unlawful; if the man is a merchant, his dealings are with unjust, oppressive people; and if they are craftsmen, their earnings are likewise unlawful; if it is without fat, it is without benefit and anxiety will enter upon him. If the tharid is made with dog meat, it is a lowly office, lowly trade and lowly earnings among foolish people; if it has fat, it is unlawful wealth; if it is without fat, it is lowly earnings, poverty and deprivation; and if he eats all the tharid, he will die in that poverty, humiliation and deprivation. If the tharid is made with the meat of birds of prey, it is office, trade and earnings from arrogant, oppressive people of wealth and bloodshed, with unlawful wealth, fear and reluctance. If he sees that he is eating tharid of kishk [dried yogurt and grain], it is a lowly trade without benefit.
