Seeing snow in a dream is a sign of provisions, benefits, and recovery from ailments and cold diseases — especially for one whose livelihood comes from it. Snow and fire together may signify harmony, because fire does not melt the snow and the snow does not put out the fire. If snow is seen in its season, it is a sign that worries and sorrows will go away and that enemies and enviers will be humbled. If it appears out of season, it is a sign of cold diseases and paralysis. Snow may also signify the halting of journeys and the loss of earnings for couriers, messengers, muleteers and the like. Overwhelming snow is the ruler tormenting his subjects, taking their wealth, being harsh to them and speaking foully to them, as God Almighty says:
فَبَدَّلَ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ قَوْلًا غَيْرَ ٱلَّذِى قِيلَ لَهُمْ فَأَنزَلْنَا عَلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ رِجْزًا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْسُقُونَ
“But those who wronged changed [those words] to a statement other than that which had been said to them, so We sent down upon those who wronged a punishment [i.e., plague] from the sky because they were defiantly disobeying.”
Quran 2:59 · Saheeh International
— it was said this meant snow. If the snow is light and it is in a land where it benefits its people, it is fertility and abundance.
(Whoever sees) snow falling on him will travel a long journey, and there may be harm in it. If he sees that he is sleeping on snow, it is said that if the snow is overwhelming, it is worry from an attacking enemy — unless the snow is light, not overwhelming, in its proper season and in a place where it normally snows; in places where snow is not unusual it is likewise, for snow is fertility for the people of that place, unless it is overwhelming and cannot be cleared away, in which case it is a punishment falling on that place. Whoever is struck by the cold of snow, in winter or summer, it is poverty. Whoever buys a load of snow in summer will gain wealth that brings him ease, and he will find relief from grief through kind words or through a prayer, because of the price (he paid). If the snow does not harm them and melts quickly, it is toil and worry that will pass quickly. If he sees that the land is sown but dry, and it snowed on them, it is like rain: a mercy that reaches them, and fertility and blessing. If it snows on him while he has protection from the snow, it will not be hard for him, since he has wrapped up and protected himself; he is a prudent man and it will not alarm him.
(Whoever sees) heavy snow in a land out of its season, that region will be struck by torment from the ruler, or punishment from God Almighty, or civil strife among them.
(Whoever sees) snow, it signifies a year of drought. Whoever has snow fall on him, his enemy will get the better of him. Heavy snow may signify widespread diseases such as smallpox and plague; it may signify war, locusts and all kinds of disasters; and it may signify fertility and wealth.
(Whoever sees) snow coming down from the sky and covering the earth: if that is in places of crops and at times when it is beneficial, it signifies abundant blossoms, blessings of the earth and great fertility, until those places are filled with food and plants as they were filled with snow. But if it is there at times when the land does not benefit from it for its plants, it is a sign of the ruler's tyranny and the activity of the tithe collectors. Likewise, if the snow, whether at its beneficial time or otherwise, overwhelms dwellings, trees and people, it is tyranny that befalls them and an affliction descending on their community, or a disaster upon their property. Likewise, if he sees it somewhere it does not normally snow, in houses and neighborhoods, it is torment, affliction and sickness. It may also signify siege, and neglect of travel and of seeking a livelihood.
