In a dream it is a murderous, lying, contrary enemy, devious in his dealings. Whoever fights it or touches it will be struck by fright from the jinn. If he eats its flesh, or pursues it to fight it, he will be struck by an ailment from winds [rheumatism] and gatherings of wind, and will recover. They said it is an enemy coming from the ruler. Whoever sees that he caught a fox, a debtor or an opponent of his will come to him; and if he slaughters it, he will settle with him over a debt. If he plays with a fox, he will obtain a woman whom he loves and who loves him, and God the Exalted will delight his eyes with her. The fox is interpreted as astrologers, physicians, and people of scheming and wickedness.

Whoever sees as if he killed a fox will obtain a precious, noble woman.

Whoever sees a fox will see a noble man or a noble, precious woman, or a deceitful man will flatter him. The fox indicates an unknown, unrecognized, fierce and cunning enemy who does his work at the wrong time, and it indicates deceitful women.

Whoever sees as if he is dodging a fox is a lying man and a poet; likewise whoever sees that he repays the fox with the best repayment.

Whoever sees [the space] between the east and the west filled with foxes, sorcery and trickery will abound in that time.

Whoever sees that he is contending with a fox or grappling with it will dispute with a relative.

Whoever sees that he is seeking a fox will be struck by a pain from winds.

Whoever sees that a fox is seeking him will be struck by fright from jinn and humans.

Whoever sees that a fox is fleeing from him, it is a debtor who is evading him.

Whoever sees that he obtained some fox skin, that is strength and victory for him; it may be an inheritance coming through a woman. Whoever drinks fox milk will recover if he has an illness; otherwise a worry will leave him.

It is also said that whoever sees a fox will be struck by contempt in himself and loss in his wealth.

Whoever sees its meat in a dream while sick will recover quickly. Seeing a fox indicates benefit, clothing, a wife, and marriage for the unmarried.
