Moon قمر

In a dream, the moon is a just king, or a great scholar, or a handsome young man, or a tyrannical, oppressive king, or a lying man. If one sees the moon in its normal state in the sky, it is the king’s minister. Whoever sees it in his lap or beside him will marry a spouse in proportion to its brightness and light, whether the dreamer is a man or a woman; if it is dim, he will marry someone unsuitable. If a woman sees that the moon fell into her house and she took part of it and wrapped it in a cloth, she will give birth to a son who will die, and she will grieve over him. If one sees that the moon turned upside down, the king’s minister will be dismissed. If one sees the moon moving ahead of the sun, its course being better than the sun’s, the minister will rebel against the king and become a rebel. If one sees that the moon has set, the matter he is seeking, whether good or bad, has ended and come to its conclusion; and if it rises, the matter he is seeking is his.

Whoever sees the moon waxing and shining in its place in the sky, the king’s minister will benefit the people of that house. If he sees the moon in his lap or in his hand, not fallen nor cut off on the ground, he will marry; and if an unbelieving woman sees that, she will embrace Islam.

Whoever sees that the moon is in his house, an absent person will return to him. If he sees the moon on the ground, it is the death of his mother. Whoever walks in the moonlight, his mother is generous toward him. The sun and the moon are the two parents. Whoever looks at the moon and sees the likeness of his face in it will die; and if he has a pregnant wife, he will be given the good news of a male child.

Whoever sees that he is looking at the moon and saw it suddenly, his enemies will look to him and submit to his command. If he sees that he is clinging to the moon, he will receive good from the king. If he sees that the moon has darkened and the dreamer is a king, his subjects and those under his authority will harm him and reject his rule. If he sees that the moon became a sun, it indicates that the dreamer will gain honor, good and wealth through his father or his wife. The moon indicates the dreamer’s wife, his parents, his daughter and sister, goods, trade and work. It indicates a ship, because sailors travel on the sea according to the course of the moon. It also indicates travel, because it is always moving. It indicates the dreamer’s eyes. Seeing the moon, for someone who is ill or traveling by sea, indicates destruction (death).

Whoever sees the moon veiled by clouds, it indicates an illness that will afflict the minister, from which he will then recover.

Whoever sees the moon in the clouds will be dismissed from government service.

Whoever sees the moon covered by clouds while he is rich, his wealth will go.

Whoever sees that the moon spoke to him will attain leadership and closeness to the minister. If a pregnant woman sees the moon in her lap, she will give birth to a boy — unless there is something in the dream indicating a girl, such as her closing her door on it, covering it with her clothes or hiding it from people. If she sees the moon in a place and stretches out her hand but cannot reach it, she longs for a male child and will not get one; and if she is pregnant, she will give birth to a girl. If one sees the moon risen full, it indicates the dismissal of the minister, because once it becomes a full moon its light is complete, and after that it begins to wane.

Whoever sees that he is prostrating to the sun or the moon will commit a grave sin, or obey a king or a minister in falsehood.

Whoever sees the sun and the moon prostrating to him, his parents are pleased with him.

Whoever sees the moon in the sky in its place but dark and black, something will happen to the minister or the scholar.

Whoever sees that the moon split apart, it may indicate the destruction (death) of the minister or the king.

Whoever sees that the moon turned into the form of a vile man, the minister will be dismissed.

Whoever sees the moon while he has a matter he wants to hide, it will come to light.

Whoever sees the moon eclipsed, or touched by darkness or redness, it is a change and a decline in whoever the moon is associated with. The moon indicates speed of travel, because it moves quickly in its orbit. Seeing it may indicate illnesses of coldness and moisture, just as the sun indicates heat. The moon may indicate one’s condition, and a companion and drinking partner. It may indicate the office of minister and secretaryship, and an unjust governor, because it governs the darkness (zulma), and from darkness is derived injustice (zulm). The moon (qamar) may indicate gambling (qimar), and it indicates oaths and swearing, because of the words of the Exalted:

كَلَّا وَٱلْقَمَرِ

“No! By the moon.”

Quran 74:32 · Saheeh International

Seeing it may indicate healing from eye pains. If one sees that the moon split apart, it indicates the appearance of a sign, because of the words of the Exalted:

ٱقْتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلْقَمَرُ

“The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two].”

Quran 54:1 · Saheeh International

Seeing the moon full on the nights of the crescent is a good sign, and seeing it as a crescent on the nights of the full moon is not good. The moon may indicate an astronomer or a dream interpreter, because by it one finds the way through what is seen in the darkness.

Whoever sees the moon in its place of exaltation, it is a good sign; and if he sees it in a dream in its place of fall (dejection), it is a bad sign. Whoever sees it in a dream in the sign of Aries, it is a good sign for someone hoping to meet great people such as kings and others, though it may be a bad sign for someone who builds. If he sees it in the sign of Taurus and he hopes to travel overland, it is a bad sign. If he sees it in the sign of Gemini, it is blameworthy for acquiring slaves and servants, and good for buying livestock. If he sees it in the sign of Leo, it is blameworthy for partnership, guarantees and mixing wealth. If he sees it in Virgo, it is good for purging the body. If he sees it in Libra, it is bad for that and for drawing off water. If he sees it in Scorpio, it is good for enjoying the bathhouse and clothing, and bad for travel. If he sees it in Sagittarius, it is bad for planting trees. If he sees it in Capricorn, it is bad for laying foundations. If he sees it in Aquarius, it is bad for dispatching messengers and all other undertakings. If he sees it in Pisces, it is good for raising banners (of command), for oaths of allegiance and transactions, and for taking up public offices.

Whoever sees the sun, the moon and the stars gathered in the place of their orbit, and they have light, his word will be accepted by the king, the minister and the nobles; and if they have no light, it is a calamity for the dreamer. If he sees that the sun and the moon rose over him, his parents are pleased with him; and if they have no rays, they are angry with him. If he sees a sun and a moon on his right and left, or in front of him and behind him, it is a calamity — worry, fear, defeat or an affliction — that will force him to flee, because of the words of the Exalted:

وَجُمِعَ ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ ۝ يَقُولُ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنُ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَيْنَ ٱلْمَفَرُّ

“And the sun and the moon are joined, Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?"”
