In a dream it is trade, for one who sees it in the ear of his wife or his slave girl.
(Whoever sees) in his own ear two earrings studded with pearls will obtain beauty and wealth from the adornment of this world, and will memorize the Quran with a beautiful voice. If a pregnant woman sees two earrings in her ear, her pregnancy is a male child: if the earring is of silver, the child will memorize half of the Quran; if it is of gold, he will memorize the whole Quran; and if it is without pearls, the child will sing melodies. An unmarried woman who sees any of that will marry. An earring in a boy's ear is adornment, but it is not praiseworthy for a youth who has reached puberty or for men, for it is a disgrace and an ugly matter he will enter into, or a deficiency in his mind.
(Whoever sees) himself wearing earrings will memorize the Quran or learn knowledge by which he is adorned among people. For a woman, the earring is her husband and the upper-ear ring (shanf) is her children. The earring (qurt) may also be pasture for animals or something that is eaten, and it is what women beautify themselves with among their ornaments.
(Whoever sees) an earring in his ear desires to listen to singing, or will attend singing and listen to it.
(Whoever sees) a woman or slave girl with an earring or an upper-ear ring in her ear, trade will appear for him in a thriving district, along with recreation there with female slaves and maidservants.
