Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Cap (qalansuwa) قلنسوة

In a dream it is leadership, or travel, or marriage, or a slave-girl. Whoever sees that he has been given a cap will travel a long journey; if he puts it on his head, he will attain authority. If a person sees it on his head and it is of the kind he wears in waking life, it is whoever is above him: a chief, an owner, a brother, a father, an uncle or a scholar, all being equal in having authority over him. His standing with that chief of his will be in proportion to the beauty and appearance of the cap. If he sees it dirty and torn, that chief of his will be struck by worry and grief in proportion to the extent of the dirt and defect in it. If it falls from his head or is snatched from him, that is his parting from his chief or a change in his standing with him; and its being snatched from him, if the one who snatches it is an unknown young man or an unknown ruler, is the death of his chief.

Whoever sees a king giving people caps, he will appoint chiefs over the people and grant them offices. Wearing the cap inside out is his chief changing toward him from his usual manner. If one sees a defect in the imam's cap, its interpretation concerns the Islam with which God the Exalted crowned him and the Muslims through whom He strengthened him. If it is made of striped cloth, as the righteous do, it is imitating them and following their footsteps outwardly.

Whoever sees dirt or excrement on his own cap, it is a sign of sins he has committed. If a woman sees a cap on her head, she will marry, and if she is pregnant, she will give birth to a boy. A black cap is appointment to a judgeship, and whoever is given a cap by the ruler will take up an office.

Whoever sees on his head a cap of white hair will attain authority.

Whoever sees a cap of sable, fox or squirrel fur: if his chief is a ruler, he is an unjust tyrant; if his chief is a jurist, he is corrupt in religion; if his chief is a merchant, he is corrupt in his trade. The cap also signifies asceticism.
