Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Jinn جن

In a dream they are people of trickery in worldly affairs and its delusions, unless the jinn seen is wise, righteous and learned, speaking and knowing.

Whoever sees that he turned into a jinn, his cunning will become strong.

Whoever sees jinn standing near his house, it indicates loss, or that he has a vow that has become obligatory for him, or humiliation that will befall him.

Whoever sees some jinn entering his house and doing something in it, that is a sign that enemies will enter his house and thieves will harm him.

Whoever sees as if he is teaching the jinn the Quran, or they are hearing it from him, will be granted leadership and office.

Whoever sees that he keeps company with the jinn in a dream, it indicates his closeness to travelers and those who pry into secrets. Seeing them indicates conjurers and illusionists. A distinction is made between Muslim and unbelieving jinn by their commands, prohibitions or actions: whoever among them enjoins good, forbids evil or gives [true] information is among the Muslims, and the reverse.

If he sees that he married one of the jinn, he will be afflicted with a woman of immorality and turbulence; or he may buy a defective riding animal; and if he is one of the people of kingship, he will rule, or attain a high station according to his worth.

If he sees that he was granted a child from the jinn, he will obtain earnings from something lowly or wealth from buried treasure.

If the king sees that he seized jinn and shackled them, he will take possession of a town and seize unbelievers in it, capture them and shackle them.

If a righteous man sees that, he will protect himself from Satan through his fasting and breaking his desires. If he wrestles with the jinn in a dream, he will be safe from their evil or the evil of those they point to; and if they throw him down, they will strike him with their cunning and their touch [possession]; he may be one who consumes usury. The kings of the jinn indicate prominent leaders and governors, or shaykhs, scholars, teachers of children, or guarantors who are pursued for the debtors they have. Whoever befriends one of the kings of the jinn will become acquainted in waking life with whoever they point to; he may become a headman, a guarantor, or a tracker of thieves' footprints; he may repent and be guided to God the Exalted, or become one of the people of [good] deeds and the Quran; or he may become a teacher of children. Seeing jinn may indicate burning fire. Seeing them may indicate what is made with fire, such as glass vessels and the like. Seeing them in the places we have mentioned may indicate the appearance of vermin such as large snakes, serpents, scorpions and whatever harms human beings.
