Cemetery (graveyard) جبانة

Seeing it in a dream is safety for the fearful and fear for the one who feels safe. A cemetery may signify fear and hope, and returning to right guidance after going astray. Seeing a cemetery of the polytheists is worry, misery, fear and doubt in religion. Seeing it signifies places of heretical innovation and a desolate prison. The cemetery signifies the Hereafter, because it is its threshold [lit. its mount] and whoever reaches it passes on to it; it is the place where the bodies of those who come to it are confined. It may signify a house of spiritual retreat [ribat], devotion and worship, withdrawal from the world, weeping and sermons. A cemetery may signify death, because it is death's home. It may signify the abode of unbelievers and people of heretical innovation, and the quarter of the protected non-Muslims [ahl al-dhimma], because those in it are dead, and death in interpretation is corruption in religion. It may signify prison, because the dead man is imprisoned in his grave. So whoever enters a cemetery in a dream while sick in waking life will go to it and die of his illness, especially if he built a house or a dwelling in it. If he is not sick, then look: if at the time of entering he was humble, weeping, reciting the Book of God the Exalted, or praying toward the qibla, he will mix with good people and circles of remembrance of God, attain devotion, and benefit from what he sees or hears. If at the time of entering he was uncovered, laughing, urinating on the graves, or walking with the dead, he will mix with people of evil, depravity and corruption of religion, and will prefer them as they are. If he entered it calling the call to prayer, he will preach to those who do not take heed, command good to those who do not obey, stand up for the truth, and bear true witness among heedless, ignorant or unbelieving people. Known graveyards are a matter of truth.

If he sees that he entered known graveyards in order to be admonished by entering them, and spoke words of piety, wisdom and repentance, he will enter into a matter of truth in which he will exert himself; and if he was not admonished, he is in a matter about which he is heedless. Whoever enters a graveyard or tramples the bones of the dead with his foot will perish.
