In a dream, when a person speaks in various languages, it signifies [the source has a stray word here] that he will possess a great kingdom, because of the story of Solomon, upon him be peace. The speech of the dead is likewise [true] without interpretation. Likewise, the speech of all birds to the dreamer gives him glad tidings of attaining a great kingdom, knowledge and jurisprudence.
(Whoever sees) a camel, a ram, a she-camel or any riding animal speak to him and say "I have seen a dream," without mentioning the dream or telling it, the dreamer will encounter fighting, war and dispute, or destruction, or the loss of a kingdom.
(Whoever sees) a dog, a cheetah or a falcon say "I have seen a dream," it is good tidings for him of spoils, gain or joy. The speech of birds is all good and sound; whoever sees birds speak to him, his standing will rise.
(Whoever sees) that a snake spoke to him with soft, gentle words will obtain joy and good from an enemy, and people will marvel at him.
(Whoever sees) that a beast spoke to him will die, because of His saying, the Exalted:
۞ وَإِذَا وَقَعَ ٱلْقَوْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ أَخْرَجْنَا لَهُمْ دَآبَّةً مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ تُكَلِّمُهُمْ أَنَّ ٱلنَّاسَ كَانُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا لَا يُوقِنُونَ
“And when the word [i.e., decree] befalls them, We will bring forth for them a creature from the earth speaking to them, [saying] that the people were, of Our verses, not certain [in faith].”
Quran 27:82 · Saheeh International
(Whoever sees) that his head or his nose spoke, whatever is associated with that organ will become poor or be struck by a severe misfortune. If a tree spoke to him, or something spoke to him that suits the dreamer, it signifies that he will obtain from it something at which people marvel. A child's speech, however he says it in the dream, is true. Hearing a child's speech may also signify falling into something forbidden; and if the dreamer is among people of good, people will discover strange inclinations in him, or he will come upon something strange, or see it, or hear of it in his city. The speech of inanimate things is reconciliation or admonition. The speech of animals may be punishment and vengeance. The speech of trees is elevation of standing. The speech of the dead is a trial (fitna). The speech of the limbs is misery from family and the committing of a sin. Speaking through the mouths of figures [i.e. puppets] while making them dance is a sign of summoning jinn, and speaking through their mouths [is also] strife and evils. Speech from anything, if it agrees with the Book of God, or the Sunna of the Messenger of God, God bless him and grant him peace, or with reason, is acceptable and fit for interpretation, and is good for the one who hears it, and he must follow it; and whatever contradicts the Book of God or the Sunna of His Messenger, upon him be peace, is forbidden and must be avoided. When one of his limbs speaks to him, it is advice that must be accepted from his family and kin, or his partner, or his relatives, because they are the witnesses on the Day of Resurrection before God the Exalted against his denial of what he did to them. The speech of animals signifies submission, inclining toward the company of brethren, intimacy with the people of obedience, and withdrawal [from the world] or earning. The speech of a wall is a warning of separation, and of taking comfort in relics [i.e. traces of the past], because the believer takes comfort in them as one who talks to them and is talked to by them. The speech of trees is a sign of quarrelling [wordplay: shajar "trees" and mushajara "quarrel"]; it may also signify the raising of the dreamer's rank, because that is among the miracles of the Prophet, God bless him and grant him peace, or the soundness of his path and his right guidance, because God the Exalted addressed Moses, upon him be peace, from the tree. The speech of an enemy in a dream signifies the end of the period of estrangement; whichever of the two speaks first is outstripped [or: it will be as he saw]. Whoever hears in a dream an unseen voice commanding or forbidding, or a rebuke, or glad tidings, it is as it is, without interpretation. God the Exalted speaking to a servant individually in his dream on the Day of Resurrection signifies elevation of rank, nearness to those in authority, righteous deeds, and good conduct outwardly and inwardly. His speaking, glorified be He, to His servants in general on the Day of Resurrection signifies the appearance of justice and fairness, and the king turning to his subjects with favours and honour; and if the dreamer is one of the people of detachment [i.e. ascetics], he will detach himself from this world and turn toward the Hereafter.
