In a dream it is a ruse, and the writer is a trickster. If he sees that his handwriting is bad, he will repent and abandon tricking people.
(Whoever sees) that he writes on a sheet will inherit an inheritance. If he sees that he writes on a paper [qirtas], it is denial of what is between him and people. Ibn Sirin, may God the Exalted have mercy on him, said:
(Whoever sees) that he writes a book will obtain unlawful money, because of His saying, the Exalted:
فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ يَكْتُبُونَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ بِأَيْدِيهِمْ ثُمَّ يَقُولُونَ هَـٰذَا مِنْ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ لِيَشْتَرُوا۟ بِهِۦ ثَمَنًا قَلِيلًا ۖ فَوَيْلٌ لَّهُم مِّمَّا كَتَبَتْ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَوَيْلٌ لَّهُم مِّمَّا يَكْسِبُونَ
“So woe to those who write the "scripture" with their own hands, then say, "This is from Allāh," in order to exchange it for a small price. Woe to them for what their hands have written and woe to them for what they earn.”
Quran 2:79 · Saheeh International
(Whoever sees) a verse of the Quran written on his shirt is a man who holds fast to the Quran.
(Whoever sees) that a deed [of debt] was written against him will be told to be cupped. If a document is written against him and he does not know what is in it, God the Exalted has imposed a duty on him and he is slack in it. If he sees that a document is being written against him and he knows the writer, [the writer] deceives him, misleads him and tempts him away from his religion. If he sees that he cannot write well, he is in distress, and God the Exalted will guide him to a means by which he will escape from that distress.
(Whoever sees) that he writes a book will fall ill with an illness, and nothing will be lost from his wealth. If he sees that he learns writing when he did not know how to write, it signifies a praiseworthy matter he will obtain out of fear and toil he falls into. If he knows how to write and sees that he does not, that is bad, for it signifies idleness, fear and toil.
(Whoever sees) that he wrote a book or completed it will complete his affair and fulfil his need; if he did not complete it and it proved impossible for him, his affair will be impossible for him.
