Neck عنق

In a dream it is the seat of trust (amāna).

Whoever sees that his neck is thick is fulfilling the trust he has been charged with; if he sees it thin, he is unjust and unable to fulfill the trust he was charged with.

Whoever sees a snake coiled around his neck does not pay the alms (zakat) on his wealth. If the leader (imam) sees thickness in his neck, it is his strength in his justice and his subduing of his enemies.

Whoever sees pain in his neck has done wrong in his dealings with others or in discharging a trust. Whatever lumps or knots he sees on the neck are debts that pile up on him.

Whoever sees his neck struck with a sword will recover if he is sick. If his neck is struck by a beardless youth, he will die, because the beardless youth resembles the angel (of death). Whoever has his neck struck while he is worried, God will relieve his worry; if he is a slave, he will be freed; if he owes a debt, he will pay it and be rid of it; likewise a prisoner will come out of prison. The neck is the seat of authority, testimony, bequests, alms, and debts that hang upon it.

Whoever sees that his neck is handsome, plump and suited to his body, it indicates a high position in which he stretches his neck tall among people. If he is a witness, he is cleared of responsibility for the matter he is engaged in. If he holds a deposit, it is released from his neck, or a bequest; or he pays the alms on his wealth or settles his debts. Or the opposite: if he sees boils, pus or flowing blood on his neck, it signifies that he is burdened with the obligations we mentioned, which hang upon his neck. If he sees a written document on his neck, it signifies that he is burdened with an obligation between himself and God the Exalted. If he sees a shackle (collar) on his neck, that signifies the Fire and what brings one near to it. A handsome neck on a dead person signifies freedom from what we mentioned, just as a handsome neck on a traveler is a sign that he will arrive safely. The neck of women signifies what they put on it, such as a necklace and the like, and likewise the neck of a small child.

Whoever sees on his neck a cord or a string of gems or pearls, it is a sign of virtue, knowledge and upholding the truth. If he sees the Prophet (God bless him and grant him peace) pinch his neck, he has rebuked him for the evil he has taken upon himself; it may also signify settling a debt and recovery from illness.

Whoever sees his neck neither long nor short: if he is ill-tempered, his character will become good; if he is brave, his courage will increase; if he is of bad nature, he will become generous. The neck and the two shoulders are the place of trust and religion: the shoulders are the trusts of women and the neck the trusts of men.

Whoever sees a bird on his neck: if it is white it is a good deed, and if it is black it is an ugly deed.

Whoever sees a copy of the Quran (mushaf) on his neck, it is fulfilling the covenant and the truth, reading knowledge and reciting the Quran.
