In a dream it is the fulfillment of a promise.
Whoever sees the dawn in a dream while he is in a bad state, it signifies his unbelief and disobedience. If the dreamer has a financial obligation [dhimma] and sees that the dawn has broken, but not upon him, it gives him glad tidings of replacement [of what he spends] if he is among those who spend generously, and of ruin if he is among those who withhold. Seeing the dawn is a loss for farmers.
Whoever sees that something of his was lost and he found it at the breaking of dawn will establish against his adversary what he claims through the testimony of witnesses.
Whoever sees that morning has come: if he is sick, his illness will end either in death or in recovery. If he leads people in the dawn prayer, he should expect a journey, or he will go out on pilgrimage, or he will pass on to Paradise if it signifies his death, and what he goes forward to will be good and his grave will be lit for him. If he draws water, gathers food or buys barley, relief will come to him from whatever ailment he has. If a prisoner sees it, he will come out of prison. If someone held back from traveling by land or sea sees it, what holds him back will go. If someone whose wife has turned rebellious against him sees it, he will separate from her and she from him, because daylight separates spouses and companions. If a heedless sinner, or an unbeliever following his whims, sees it, he will repent of his state and awaken from his heedlessness and his darkness. If someone deprived, or a merchant whose trade has stagnated and whose market has come to a standstill, sees it, their markets will stir and their provision will strengthen. If someone who has an unbelieving enemy pursuing him, or an unjust adversary disputing with him, sees it, he will triumph over his enemy and prevail over him with the truth. If the common people see it while they are under siege, hardship, oppression, drought or civil strife, they will come out of all of that and be saved from it.
