In a dream it signifies spoils. Whoever sees that he hunted a gazelle, an ibex, a hare or a wild ass will obtain money and spoils. If he sees that he shot a bird or a cow not for hunting, he is slandering a woman or a slave-girl [accusing her of unchastity]. If he sees that he hunts with dogs, he will attain his wish and reach his desire.

Whoever sees hunting dogs going out to hunt, that is good for all people, and it signifies some action and movement a person undertakes. If he sees them returning from the hunt, it signifies the departure of fear, and idleness; and if he sees them entering the city, it signifies idleness. If he sees that he is catching fresh, sweet fish from the sea with a tool, it signifies lawful means and effort in them and acquiring lawful provision. Hunting for a man signifies his contriving by his own judgment and effort: if he is unmarried, he will marry; if he is married, he will be granted a male child according to what he caught, such as a young bird or a shark; otherwise the child will be a girl, as with a tilapia or a small fish. Hunting by a woman is a sign of her safeguarding what is in the holdings of her father or husband. Hunting by a slave is a sign of what he takes of his master's money. Hunting by a child is a sign of the knowledge or craft he memorizes, or what he inherits from his parents.
