In a dream it is worry and grief. Whoever eats it is striving in a matter that weighs on him, especially the yellow one. In its season it is provision, and out of season it is illness. If a person sees it still growing, it is a grieving child.

Whoever sees that he is eating it while his wife is pregnant, she will bear him a girl. Cucumber cut with iron is good for illness. The cucumber [khiyar] is good [khayr] and a good choice [khira] for one to whom it is brought.
