Wine خمر

In a dream it is unlawful money gained without hardship. Whoever sees that he is drinking wine will incur a great sin and ample provision.

Whoever sees that he is drinking it with no one contending with him over his cup will obtain unlawful money — it is said, rather, unlawful money [the source repeats itself]. If someone contends with him, he will contend with him in words and dispute in proportion to that. If he sees that he found a river of wine, he will fall into a trial in his worldly life; if he enters it, he will fall into a trial in proportion to what he took of it. Seeing wine, for one who wants a partnership or marriage, is agreement, because of its mixing. Drinking wine for a governor is dismissal. Drinking wine mixed with water is money partly lawful and partly unlawful; it is said it is money in a partnership, and it is said he will take money from a woman and fall into trouble.

Whoever sees that he is pressing wine will serve the ruler, and great matters will be carried out at his hands.

Whoever sees that he was invited to a wine gathering with much fruit in it is being called to jihad and to martyrdom in it. Wine in a dream signifies civil strife, evils, enmity and hatred. Drinking wine may signify recovery from illness. It may signify loss of reason through madness, or worry that takes him out of his senses. If the dreamer is a litigant, he is a false adversary because of the audacity that runs on his tongue. If he is unemployed, he will find work; or if poor, he will become rich; or if unmarried, he will marry; or if sick, he will recover. If the wine drinker is a scholar, he will increase in knowledge, because of the reflection that comes to a person when drinking. Consider what wine he drank: if the wine is from grapes, the dreamer may eat grapes out of season, or need their cooked syrup, or fall into a fault ['ayb], because it is its misspelling ['inab = grapes]; he may be granted lawful provision. If the wine was bought, or he undertook its pressing, he may fall into something forbidden that brings a curse upon him. It is 'uqar, and drinking it in a dream may signify disobedience ['uquq] to parents, or selling some real estate ['aqar]. It is sulaf, and drinking it in a dream may signify debt and loans [salaf]. It is rah, and drinking it may signify the departure [rawah] of money or a child, or its drinker may find rest [raha] if he is in toil and hardship. It is 'ajuz [old woman], so the dreamer may be intoxicated by an old woman or marry such a woman. Drinking wine signifies the stupidity and ignorance of its drinker. If a dead person is seen drinking wine, he is in bliss in the Hereafter, for it is of the drink of the people of Paradise, unless he died persisting in it or was, in his life, one who considered it lawful. Wine signifies good for one who wants to marry, because of the mixing of water with it and its blending.
