Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

'Umar ibn al-Khattab عمر بن الخطاب

(May God be pleased with him.) Whoever sees him in a dream will be long-lived, praiseworthy in deeds, one who speaks the truth, and he may be granted the performance of the 'umra [lesser pilgrimage] to the Sacred House.

(Whoever sees) 'Umar (may God be pleased with him) and shakes hands with him will attain an ample worldly life, healing piety, insight and protection, because his merit is so well known that it needs no mention. Whoever sees him frowning and angry will seek the office of market inspector (ḥisba), and command what is right and forbid what is wrong. Whoever sees him in a land afflicted by drought, it will receive good rain and there will be blessings and conquests there; if there is tyranny there, justice will descend upon it.

(Whoever sees) 'Umar, may God be pleased with him, strike him with the whip (durra) or threaten him with punishment, let him turn back from what he is doing; what he saw may befall him from a sultan or a jurist.

(Whoever sees) that he took on his form or wore his garment will be given of his state what befits him, and he may die a martyr. Whoever sees him cheerful is a follower of the Sunna and the traditions. If he sees him in an army bearing weapons, he will attain piety and fear of God and will be trustworthy. Whoever sees him with the Prophet, God bless him and grant him peace, will attain great good. Seeing him signifies that the truth will be upheld in his time, commanding right and forbidding wrong will be widespread, and the call to prayer (adhan) announced, because he (may God be pleased with him) was the cause of the adhan being proclaimed. Seeing him may signify reconciliation after enmity, love after hatred, good fortune in marriage ties, and renouncing the world while being able to have it. If the dreamer is a king, he will conquer lands and establish religion as it should be, and he will be helped against those who oppose him and the hypocrite, together with tenderness and compassion toward his subjects.
