Turtle / tortoise سلحفاة

In a dream it is a woman who perfumes and adorns herself and offers herself to men. It is also said the turtle is the chief judge, because it is the most knowledgeable of what is in the sea and the most scrupulous of it. It is also said it is a learned man: if he sees the turtle honored in a town or village, the people of knowledge in that place are held in esteem; and if he sees it on a rubbish heap, held in contempt, there is a scholar there who is lost among the ignorant people of that place. It is also said it is a devout man who reads the scrolls of Abraham (peace be upon him) and the books of the other prophets (peace be upon them). Eating a turtle is wealth, or knowledge from the sciences of the prophets (peace be upon them), coming from where one does not expect. It is also said: whoever eats turtle meat will obtain good, or piety, and benefit.

Whoever sees that he found a turtle, or owned it, or brought it into his house, will gain a person who is a learned scholar in the ancient sciences. If he sees a turtle cast aside on his road, there is knowledge there that is cast aside and not cared for; and if he sees it protected in a vessel or in a cloth, the scholar there is elevated and esteemed. It is also said that the turtle in a dream signifies scheming and deception, spying, hiding, evil, and the acquisition of weapons.
