In a dream it represents a person's lifespan and the mainstay of his livelihood. If he sees that his shin is made of iron, his life will be long; if he sees them made of glass, his appointed time (death) is near. If he sees that he lifts one shin and stretches out the other, and his shins wrap around each other, his death has drawn near, or a difficult and terrible matter has drawn near to him, or he is a liar. If he sees a woman's shin and then recognizes her, he will marry her or marry another. When a woman uncovers her shins, her religion becomes good and she comes to something better than what she has in hand.
(Whoever sees) a great deal of hair on the shins of his legs will be overburdened by debts and will die in prison.
The shin is a person's wealth and livelihood: whoever sees that his shin is of iron, his wealth will remain along with a long life; if it is of wood, he will be too weak to seek his provision and earn his living; if he sees his shin made of pottery or glass, he will soon die, or his wealth or livelihood will go. If he has a child, a servant, an animal or property, part of that will leave him. If he sees that his shin has become smaller, that is a decrease in the wealth on which he relies, and the decrease may also be in his lifespan. Whoever runs on one shin loses half his wealth.
(Whoever sees) that both shins of his legs have been cut off loses all his wealth, and it may indicate his death, unless there is something in the dream indicating good, in which case it means he rises up on an animal he rides, or it indicates boarding a ship, or a good deed he does, or a friend he keeps ties with, or his committing something God Almighty has forbidden. The shin (saq) 'drives' (yasuq), just as the foot (qadam) is from 'to come forward' (qadima, yaqdumu), the ankle (ka'b) from 'a full-breasted girl' (ka'ib), and the heel ('aqib) from 'descendants' (a'qab). Whoever sees in a dream a fine, plump shin, it indicates the goodness of what he drives along or what is driven to him, or of the wealth or gift he has driven forward. Thick hair on a woman's shin is humiliation and a scheme worked against her by a husband or a king; it may also indicate secrets coming to light, and guidance after going astray. The shin may indicate hardship. If he sees two shins wrapped together, it indicates fear and affliction. A change in the condition of the shin is a sign of the condition of what he drives along, of wealth and other things, or what is driven to him. Uncovering the shin is a sign of abandoning prayer and of humiliation after honor.
