Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Rock (boulder) صخرة

In a dream it is patient, enduring women. It signifies resolve, steadfastness and long life; it signifies a doorkeeper and a builder; and seeing it may signify forgetfulness, because of His saying, the Exalted:

قَالَ أَرَءَيْتَ إِذْ أَوَيْنَآ إِلَى ٱلصَّخْرَةِ فَإِنِّى نَسِيتُ ٱلْحُوتَ وَمَآ أَنسَىٰنِيهُ إِلَّا ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ أَنْ أَذْكُرَهُۥ ۚ وَٱتَّخَذَ سَبِيلَهُۥ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ عَجَبًا

“He said, "Did you see when we retired to the rock? Indeed, I forgot [there] the fish. And none made me forget it except Satan - that I should mention it. And it took its course into the sea amazingly."”

Quran 18:63 · Saheeh International

It signifies shamelessness and wickedness. Rock may signify a person named after it [e.g. Sakhr], or someone with baseness in his origin. An abundance of rock in a town is cheapness of prices, by reversal. If rock signifies an office, it will be of long duration and permanence; if it signifies a wife, she will be patient and content. Rock may signify what is made from it, such as thresholds, idols and the like. Rocks near mountains are men whose dwellings are not there, and all of them are hard-hearted.

Whoever sees that he came down upon a rock, or the removal of a rock, its interpretation is like the interpretation of mountains.

Whoever sees that he is boring into a rock or the like is investigating a matter, and he will obtain from it in proportion to how far his boring reaches into that rock. If the mountain is a king, the rocks and trees around the mountain are that king's commanders. Dead rocks, cut off and cast on the ground, may signify the dead, because they are cut off from the living mountains that glorify God; and they signify people of hardness, heedlessness and ignorance.
