In a dream it is a man's strength. The opening of the palm is the expansion of his worldly fortune, and its closing [or: its breaking apart] is the dispersal of his worldly fortune.
(Whoever sees) something happen in the palm, it concerns his strength and his worldly fortune. If he sees that hair has grown on his palm, he will be struck by grief and worry; it is also said it is money that slips away from his hand. If hair grows on the back of the hand, his state will become strong, or his money will go.
(Whoever sees) his palm hanging from the sky: if he is connected to the ruler, he will obtain benefit and good; if he is a hunter, his catch will increase; if he owns real estate, he will obtain benefit.
(Whoever sees) that he has a small, delicate palm will become cowardly and weak in himself. The palm is a man's worldly fortune. The palm (kaff) is also refraining (kaff) from things.
(Whoever sees) a palm while he is afraid of something, that thing will be held back from him.
(Whoever sees) his palm broad and fine, it is a sign of the abundance of his provision and his generosity; if he sees it clenched, it signifies his stinginess and the scarcity of his good. When the palm is fine, it is a sign of refraining from evil and from acts of disobedience to God the Exalted, or of refraining from charity. A fine palm may also signify the acceptance of supplication. The palm is the rāha [the flat of the hand], which is rest (rāha) from toil, or bringing rest to others, or some comfort that comes into his hand. It is also said that seeing the palm signifies six things: livelihood, wealth, leadership, children, courage, and earnestness together with keeping far from what is unlawful.
