Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Foundation stones

Whoever sees foundations (qawa'id) in a dream: they are the scholars, or their assemblies in which they sit, or their mounts which they ride, or their ships that travel with them. Foundations may also signify women who have stopped expecting marriage (al-qawa'id) [wordplay: the same word means "foundations" and "elderly women past childbearing"], because of His saying, the Exalted:

“And women of post-menstrual age who have no desire for marriage - there is no blame upon them for putting aside their outer garments [but] not displaying adornment. But to modestly refrain [from that] is better for them. And Allāh is Hearing and Knowing.”

Quran 24:60 · Saheeh International

A foundation may also signify the woman who is under the man [i.e. his wife]. A foundation may also signify established knowledge, or the craft that one relies upon, or the foundation of religion. So whoever owns foundations in a dream, it signifies spouses, children, guidance and knowledge; or the dreamer may fall ill with chronic disability, or be kept from travelling. The foundations of congregational mosques are righteous people; the foundations of dwellings are righteous, chaste women; and the foundations of the house [i.e. temple] and of churches are people of whim and heedlessness, or of misguidance.
