Lock (padlock) قفل

In a dream, a lock is a trustworthy man. It is also said that the lock is a virgin woman for whoever works at it. If a prisoner sees that he has opened a lock, he will be saved from prison; and if a worried person opens a lock, his worry will go away and his affairs will become easy. A lock is also equipment, a proof and strength.

Whoever sees that he opened a lock should beware of an oath he may swear and thereby part from his wife; when he opens it, each of the two separates from the other. The lock is a person relied upon for safekeeping deposits.

Whoever sees that he locked a door with a lock will take a guarantor from a man, or a guarantor will be taken from him.

Whoever sees that he opened a lock will find relief from worry and be freed from a guarantee he stood for. Every closing is worry and every opening is relief. For one who wants to marry, a lock indicates a trustworthy woman who manages the house well and is careful in her affairs; for one who wants to buy a slave girl, it indicates that she will suit him; and for one who wants to travel, it indicates safety and protection. Iron locks indicate deciphering codes and knowledge, and wooden locks are spouses. All of this indicates marriage to free women and slave women, children, knowledge and wisdom, and the easing of what is difficult; it may also indicate keeping one’s covenant. Locks also indicate heedlessness; the Exalted said:

أَفَلَا يَتَدَبَّرُونَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ أَمْ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبٍ أَقْفَالُهَآ

“Then do they not reflect upon the Qur’ān, or are there locks upon [their] hearts?”

Quran 47:24 · Saheeh International

A lock is a guarantor who stands surety. Iron locks indicate the protection of whoever they represent and the soundness of what they are on, and a firm religion; they may indicate honor and elevation when they are placed where wooden locks used to be. Wooden locks indicate hypocrisy, wavering in speech, and accepting bribes.
