Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Knot (tying something) عقد الشيء

In a dream it is a necklace of pearls ['iqd] or a marriage contract ['aqd] [wordplay: 'aqd = knot / contract]. A knot on a shirt is a trade contract. A knot on a rope is religion. On a handkerchief, it is gaining a servant. On trousers, it is a marriage contract with a woman. On a thread, it is confirming a matter one wants, such as a governorship, trade or marriage; or the knot is facilitation. If it does not tie, the untying of that matter he wants will be difficult. If he sees that he tied a knot on a rope, thread or purse and wants to open it but it will not open, and he becomes distressed, and then a person he does not know opens it, that is distress and grief coming from the sultan; and if it opens, God will relieve him from where he does not expect. Knots may also be pledges and covenants for whoever sees them.
