In a dream it is a king of little renown, of great might, humble, unjust and powerful; that is because of its great soundness [in hunting], its closeness to the ground when flying, and how seldom it misses its prey. Whoever owns a kite and hunts with it will obtain kingship or wealth; and seldom does a person obtain much from a kite in his sleep. If he sees that he obtained a wild kite that does not hunt for him or obey him, and he sees as though it is holding his hand, he will have a boy who will not reach manhood before becoming a king. If he sees that the kite left him in that state, the boy will be born dead, or will not live long before he dies. Its chicks are children, and its females are women from a [powerful] clan. A single one is a woman who betrays, is shameless and does not cover herself. The kite signifies thieves who steal secretly, snatch things and rob on the roads. It signifies deceitful schemers who hide good from those who befriend them. The kite signifies war and fighting. A flock of kites signifies those whom it is lawful to fight because of their unbelief or polytheism.
