In a dream it is the king's minister or his deputy, who hardly leaves him or departs from him at both ends of the day; a boon companion who drinks with him and sits with him; a warmonger [sahib harb, a play on hirba'] who stirs up war among people. The chameleon is a man of resolve in affairs. It signifies serving an idle person, or civil strife in religion, or a Zoroastrian woman, because it always turns with the sun, appearing when it rises and hiding when it sets. It signifies lamenting over the dead.
