Whoever sees in a dream a single person from among the children of Adam who is unknown, whom he does not know in waking life nor any resemblance of him, seeing that being may be his own soul, through which God the Exalted showed it to him. If he sees that being doing good, he may be the one who does it; and if he sees it in the dream doing evil, the single person is the limit at which his provision or his term of life ends. If he sees two people and he is afraid, he will be safe. If he sees three, that is a sign of piety in refraining from committing forbidden things.

Whoever sees a man he knows, his dream indicates that he will take something from him or from someone resembling him.

Whoever sees as if he took something he loves from him will obtain from him what he hopes for. If he is one of those eligible for office and sees as if he took a new shirt from him, he will appoint him to office. If he takes a rope from him, it is a pledge (covenant). If he sees as if he took money from him, he will despair of him and enmity and hatred will occur between them.

Any known human being signifies himself, or his kind, or someone resembling him, or someone from his town, or someone of his trade. Whoever sees a known person who has moved up to a high rank, or who had a high rank and his worth has fallen, or a calamity has befallen him, that indicates good or evil coming down upon him just as he saw it, like for like; or the deficiency in him may be an increase for his enemy, or an increase in the dreamer may be a deficiency in his enemy. If that is not the case, it applies to someone of his kind, someone resembling him, or someone from his town.
