It is the sense of smell, and the seat of comfort, because of the air and pleasant scent that reach the body through it. Its beauty and quickness in perceiving scent in a dream are a sign of comfort. The nose in a dream indicates that by which a person is adorned, such as wealth, a father, a child, a brother, a spouse, a partner or an agent. Whoever's nose is handsome in a dream, it is a sign of the good state of the one it signifies among those we have mentioned. Its blackness or great size indicates humiliation (having one's nose rubbed in the dust) and subjugation; just as its conforming to its natural size, or its breathing in a pleasant scent, is a sign of high standing and contentment. Many noses in a dream, on the face or on some part of the body, are a sign of renewed comforts, children and followers. If he sees that his nose became iron or gold, it signifies a calamity that will overtake him because of a crime he commits, because criminals' noses are cut off, and when they repent they have noses made for them of gold or iron for fear of notoriety. If the dreamer is a merchant, or sees his nose become gold or silver, it signifies his favor, his renown and his many profits. The nose may signify news that reaches a person through a messenger. The nose may signify a spy who brings news that no one else learns. It may signify the gateway of a person's evil. It may signify the bellows or blower on which his livelihood depends: whoever sees his bellows broken, a misfortune may befall his nose, and likewise if something bad happens to his nose, his craft will come to a halt. If a Quran reciter, a singer or a muezzin sees that his nose is gone or blocked and cannot smell, it signifies the impossibility of finding comfort from his craft, because the nose helps in exhaling breath; the dreamer may fall ill with shortness of breath. The nose and ear may signify hills and banks covered with grass and mud. The nose may signify relief for the sick. The nose may signify foolishness, arrogance and bad reputation: whoever's nose wrinkled in arrogance in a dream, or became crooked, it signifies foolishness and humiliation.

(Whoever sees) that he has leprosy of the nose and its tip, it is his death, or a misfortune will befall him in which there is disgrace; if it is a pregnant woman, it is her death or her child's death.

(Whoever sees) that he had a nosebleed and the blood got on his clothes, that is unlawful money he will obtain; if the blood is thick, that is a child he will have. It is also said that piercing the nose (for a ring) is the death of its owner. It is also said:

(Whoever sees) that he has two noses will be blessed with two children, or his testimony will negate the testimony of two men, or disagreement will arise between him and his family.

(Whoever sees) that his nose was cut off: if he is sick, he will die; if he is healthy, it signifies a change in his condition and the loss of his wealth. It is also said that the nose is a man's kinship: whoever sees that he has no nose has no kin. If he smelled a pleasant scent, his dream signifies joy that will reach him; if his wife is pregnant, she will give birth to a child. It is also said that the nose is the two parents. The interpretation of what enters the nose follows the course of the dream, and whatever disliked thing enters through it is anger that is suppressed.
