Whoever sees him in a dream rejoicing in him [the dreamer], speaking to him with words of kindness and admonition, or a counsel, or glad tidings, will obtain honor, might, strength, victory and glad tidings. If he is wronged, he will be given victory; if sick, he will be cured; if afraid, he will be safe; if in worry, he will be relieved; and if he has not performed the Hajj, he will perform it. It is a sign of martyrdom that he will be granted, even if he lives long. If he takes something from him, such as food, [he is] one of the people of Paradise.
If an unbeliever sees him, hardship, fear and punishment will befall him.
If he sees as if he is equating Gabriel and Michael, peace be upon them both [or: taking sides between them], he agrees with the view of the Jews on compulsion [predestination], and is engaging in something involving opposition to God the Exalted and incurring vengeance upon himself.
Whoever sees that Gabriel, peace be upon him, greets him, he will make him a lofty scholar whose renown will rise and who will be honored among his peers. Seeing Gabriel, peace be upon him, indicates the king's messenger, secrets, and glad tidings of conceiving male children. Seeing him indicates devotion or knowledge, and teaching secrets to those fit for them. Seeing him indicates the spirit flowing into one who is on the verge of ruin and death. Seeing him may indicate moving about, sacred things, jihad and victory over enemies. Seeing him indicates learning the religious sciences, astronomy and others.
Whoever sees Gabriel, peace be upon him, sad and worried will be struck by hardship and punishment.
Whoever sees that he came to be in the form of Gabriel, peace be upon him, will be generous, abounding in good and blessing.
