In a dream, if it is unknown, it indicates the Angel of Death; and if it picked up a stick, a leaf, a worm or the like and flew away with it to the sky from a house in which there is a sick person or the like, that person will die. It may indicate a traveler, for one who sees it land on him. It may indicate one's deeds, for one who sees it on his head, shoulder, lap or neck: if it is white, the deed is pure; and if it is murky and multicolored, it is a mixed, impure deed; unless he has a pregnant woman at home, in which case, if the bird is male, it is a boy, and if it is female, it is a girl; and if he clips its wings, the child will live and remain with him, and if it flies away, it will not last long. Large birds indicate kings, chiefs, tax collectors, scholars, and people of earning and wealth. Water birds are nobles who have attained leadership from two directions and moved between two dominions, the dominion of water and the dominion of air; they may indicate men who travel by sea and land. If they cry out, they are wailing women and weepers. Birds that sing or wail are singers and wailers, whether the bird is male or female. Small birds, sparrows, larks and nightingales are small boys. A flock of birds, for one who eats them or obtains them, is wealth, dinars and authority, especially if he herds them, feeds them or takes care of them.

(Whoever sees) birds flying above his head will obtain a governorship and leadership. If he sees birds flying in his neighborhood, they are the angels.

(Whoever sees) a bird come from the sky and land in front of him, it is a second piece of good news, at which he will rejoice. The bird is one's deeds. The unknown bird may indicate a warning and an admonition. Whoever's bird is beautiful in the dream, his deeds are good, or a messenger will come to him with good news.

(Whoever sees) with him a bird of ugly form, his deeds may be bad, or a messenger may come to him with bad news. An unknown bird is provision. It is also said that black birds indicate bad deeds, white birds good deeds, and multicolored birds deeds in which there is a mixture.
