Every yellow food in a dream is illness for whoever eats it, unless it is with the meat of fowl. Every white food is better than sour food; if it is with fat meat, there is nothing wrong with it. Whoever drinks food as one drinks water, his livelihood will increase. The food of celebrations is glad tidings, and the food of funerals is worries and miseries. Foods not tied to a season are lasting provisions and benefits; foods tied to a season, such as meat with eggplant or with gourd, are provisions at one time and not another. The food of kings is honor, elevation and a renewed position for whoever eats some of it with them. Eating gourd is a sign of guidance, following the Sunnah, and intelligence. The food of scholars is knowledge, guidance and blessing. The food of the poor and of the scrupulously pious and ascetic is repentance and guidance for whoever eats it. The food of desert people is travel and moving from one state to another. Food cooked with meat is wealth for the poor; food cooked without meat is need, or worship. If the food changed into something better than it, it signifies inner righteousness; if it changed into bitterness or sourness, it signifies a change of spouses or of work. If he himself cooked good food, he will obtain a position in proportion to it and become rich after his poverty. If someone else cooked for him, he may be schemed against and deception is feared for him; or he may be granted help toward his goal.

(Whoever sees) that he swallowed hot, coarse food, it signifies that his life and livelihood will be spoiled.

(Whoever sees) a great deal of food in his mouth, with room still in it rather than tightness that would disturb his affair, his dream signifies that as much of his life has passed as the food in his mouth, and as much of his life remains as the room left in it.

(Whoever sees) that he worked at that food until he got rid of it will be safe; if he did not get rid of it, he will die. Extremely sour food that he cannot eat is pain and illness during which he cannot eat. Taking sour food from someone signifies hearing ugly words. Whoever sees that he takes it and feeds it to another, the one fed is like him; if he ate it, sorrow or illness will befall him.

(Whoever sees) that he endured eating it patiently and praised God Most High for it will obtain relief.
