Doctor (physician) طبيب

In a dream he is the scholar, just as the mufti and the jurist are the physician. If he sees that a doctor treated him, his body will become healthy; and if he sees that a scholar is admonishing him, doubt and hypocrisy will leave his heart and his religion will be set right. The physician is the jurist. Anyone who has a dispute and sees doctors in his dream, their sign is the sign of his opponents.

(Whoever sees) a sick person, [that is,] sees him in his dream, has seen an opponent of his, for his sign is the sign of one who practices medicine.

(Whoever sees) that a doctor has been brought back to life, that craft will spread in that town according to that doctor's method. The doctor is a person's mother: whoever's doctor dies, his mother will die. When the doctor visits a sick person, he recovers from his ailment; and when he visits a healthy person, he falls ill, especially if, in the dream, he prescribed something beneficial for him, for that indicates his good counsel and knowledge and people's benefiting from him. Seeing a doctor may indicate bringing out hidden things, like the snake-charmer who brings enemies (snakes) out of their holes; and what enemy of a person is more severe and more deadly than (his own) nature? Seeing him may indicate the sweeper and the clearer of filth, the faultfinder, one who spies out news, one who equips for war, or a warrior who sometimes wins and sometimes is defeated.

(Whoever sees) that he has become a doctor will obtain a high position suited to his standing; or he may become a policeman who frightens people with his orders and prohibitions, or with what he does that leads to the loss of wealth and life. The doctor indicates one who reforms and treats matters of religion and worldly life, such as the jurist, the judge and the preacher whose admonition is a balm and an antidote; and like the tutor, the master, and the tanner who treats the hides of animals. He also indicates the cupper, because of the healing in cupping. Whoever sees a judge turn into a doctor, his gentleness will increase and his benefit will be great.

(Whoever sees) a doctor turn into a judge or a jurist: if he is a wise Muslim physician, his renown will increase, his rank will grow and his standing in his craft will rise; if he is otherwise, calamities will befall him, and perhaps he will kill someone with his medicine through his ignorance and recklessness, because in the dream he rose to what was not his.

(Whoever sees) a doctor selling shrouds, let him beware of him, for he is a killer and a traitor in his medicine, especially if the shrouds he sold were freshly perfumed, which is the clearest sign of his fraud in his medicines and of people in general being deceived about him.

(Whoever sees) a doctor turn into a tanner of hides, it is a sign of his skill and of the many who are cured at his hands, unless he sees that his tanning is spoiled and rotten, in which case he is an ignorant fraud.
