Well بئر

Water (of a well) in a dream is a laughing, cheerful woman; if a woman sees it, it is a man of good character. A well is wealth, or knowledge, or marriage, or a large man, or prison, or shackles, or cunning.

Whoever sees that he dug a well with water in it will marry a wealthy woman and deceive her, because digging is cunning. If there is no water in it, the woman has no wealth. If he sees that he drank from its water, he will obtain wealth through cunning, if he is the one who dug it; otherwise it will come through the hand of whoever dug it, or someone of the same name, or his descendants after him. If he sees an old well in a quarter, a house or a village from which those coming and going draw water with rope and bucket, then there is a woman there, or a woman’s husband and guardian, from whom people benefit in their livelihoods, and he will have a good reputation for it, because of the rope they let down to the water. If he sees that the water overflowed from that well and came out of it, it is worry, sorrow and weeping in that place. If it filled with water but did not overflow, there is no harm; its good and its evil will be kept in check. If he sees that his well overflowed more than the water that flowed into it, until the water entered the houses, he will obtain wealth that will be a burden on him; and if he opened a path for it until it left the house, he will be saved from a worry, and of his wealth will go as much as left the house. If he sees that he fell into a well of turbid water, he will deal with a tyrannical man of the ruler’s circle, will be afflicted by his scheming and oppression, and his affairs will become difficult. If the water is clear, he will work for a righteous man and be content with just enough from him. If he sits on top of a well, he will deal with a cunning man and be saved from his scheming. If he sees that he is falling or being let down into a well, he will travel. A well that a man sees in an unknown place with sweet water in it is the man’s worldly life; he will be well provided for in it, live pleasantly and have long life in proportion to the water; if there is no water in it, his life span has run out. The collapse of the well is the death of the woman. If he sees his legs dangling into the well, he will be cheated out of all or some of his wealth. If he went down into a well, reached its middle and called the adhan in it, he will travel; and when his way is cleared, he will obtain leadership and governorship, or profit from trade and good news. If he hears the adhan halfway down the well, he will be dismissed if he is a governor and will suffer loss if he is a merchant.

It is said: whoever sees a well in his home or his land will obtain an ample livelihood, ease after hardship, and benefit from where he does not expect. If he sees that he fell into a well, his rank and standing will fall. Sometimes a well signifies the father, the child, the teacher, the grave, cunning, insult, the fulfilling of needs, travel, the object of one’s search, stinginess and generosity. Every well has its own interpretation. The well of a house signifies the master of the house, or his shop, his wife, his servant, his wealth, his death or his life. A disused well is a halt to travel and activity. The well of a neighborhood signifies its watchman or the one who looks after the interests of its residents. A public well (for wayfarers) signifies relief after hardship. A well with a water wheel signifies this world, in which some people prosper and others become poor; sometimes it signifies houses of learning and schools for students, some of whom drink their fill while others only get a trickle. A well that was not there before signifies cunning, deceit and financial loss while traveling. If he sees the well of Zamzam in one of the neighborhoods or in a known town, a man will come to that place by whose supplication or kindness people will benefit; sometimes it signifies victory for the people of that town over their enemies and much blessing for them, and sometimes beneficial rain will come down upon them when they need it. If he sees that he stood at a well and drew good, clear water from it: if he is a man of learning, he will gain knowledge from it in proportion to what he drew; if he is poor, he will become rich; if he is single, he will marry; if his wife is pregnant, she will bear a child, especially if he drew with a bucket; otherwise he will obtain a means that makes him independent of people and of humbling himself before them. If he is seeking a need, his needs will be fulfilled; if he hopes for a journey, he will make a journey of great benefit; if he is seeking a hidden treasure or some goal, he will obtain it; and if he cherishes a hope, he will attain it. If the well’s rope is short (the water near), he is generous; if its rope is long, he is a stingy man. If the well’s water sinks away, it signifies associating partners with God and unbelief in God the Exalted. Sometimes a well signifies doubt in religion, because the reverse of its letters (b-’-r) is rayb (doubt).

Whoever sees that he is looking into a well is thinking and looking into the matter of a woman and of marrying through her, and he will see much good in that.

Whoever sees that his well is being lined with stones while his wife is sick or in the postpartum period, she will come through safely and recover from her illness.

Whoever sees that he is drinking from the water of a well, it is a worldly gain.
