In a dream, a door indicates the guardian of the house: whoever sees something happen to the door, it concerns the guardian of that house. Open doors are the doors of provision. The doors of rooms refer in meaning to women: if they are new, they are virgins, and if they have no locks, they are previously married women. Whoever sees that he locks the door of a room with iron will marry a virgin, in proportion to how well-built the room is and to the door's importance, appearance and usefulness to its household.

Whoever sees the door of the house changed from its condition, it is a change in the condition of the master of the house. If he sees that it has fallen, or been pulled out outward, or sees it burned or broken, it is a calamity befalling the guardian. Likewise, if he sees it locked after being pulled out or after some incident, it is the man's survival. If he sees it blocked up, it is a great calamity for the people of that house, until they are at a loss what to do about it. If he sees a small door in the middle of the door of his house, it is disliked, because it gives entry to what is private, and betrayal concerning his wife will enter that house. If the door of his house becomes great, wide and strong without being ugly, it is the good condition of the guardian. If he sees one of the beasts of prey leap upon it, wicked men are pursuing his wife. If he sees that he is looking for the door of his house and cannot find it, it is confusion in his worldly affairs. If he sees that he entered through a door and he is in a dispute, he will win it. If he sees doors opened in known or unknown places, the doors of the world will open for him as long as they do not exceed their proper measure; if they exceed it, it is the abandonment and ruin of that house. If the doors open onto the road, what he gains from that worldly fortune will go out to strangers and the common people, whether they deserve it or not; if they open into the house, what he gains from that worldly fortune will go to his household rather than strangers. If he sees that he entered over the door of an open house, it is as if he is intruding upon the sanctity of the master of the house. If he sees that the door of his house widened beyond the size of doors, it is people coming in on him without permission. The door's removal from its place may be the master of the house abandoning his character and changing toward his household from how he used to be with them before. If he sees that he went out from a narrow door into a spacious place, it is his going out from hardship to ease, and from distress and fear to safety. If he sees that his house has two doors, his wife is corrupt. If he sees that his door opens backwards, it is a misfortune from the ruler, or the abandonment of that house through its ruin. The knocker of the door is like a chamberlain, a messenger or a warner: whoever sees that his door has two knockers owes a debt to two people. If he sees that he cut off his door's knocker, he will fall into heretical innovation.

Whoever sees fire burning the doors, it indicates the death of the man's wife, and that his livelihood and management are neither successful nor good. The gates of the city indicate its king who upholds the affairs of religion and the world. The door of the house indicates its builder and the one who looks after the interests of its people. The door of a room indicates who lives in it and whatever shelters him, whether wealth, a male slave, a female slave or a wife who protects him. Entering through unknown doors indicates victory and triumph over enemies. Unknown doors may indicate knowledge, provisions, earnings and journeys, and the opening of doors of good or evil according to the dreamer's standing. Going out through doors is parting from what we have mentioned: if the door is fine, it indicates parting from good; if it is ruined or narrow, he has gone out of evil and sought safety for himself. The door may indicate death: if he goes out through the door and finds open space, greenery or a pleasant scent, it indicates a good afterlife; if he finds darkness, carcasses or fire, he will be punished in his afterlife. Opening a door in a dream indicates the easing of affairs, and blocking it indicates hardship, a straitened life and the obstruction of means; and it indicates a good outcome in all of that. Opening a door in the sky is a sign of prayers being answered or of being forbidden from committing what is prohibited. Opening doors in the sky is a sign of prolonged punishment, vengeance and hardships; and if rain has been withheld, it indicates its coming down and the reviving of the land after its death. A newly made secret door in the house indicates the good or evil that the dreamer is harboring: if it is concealed and well built, he will achieve his aim by keeping it hidden; if things show through it into the house, it indicates the exposure of his secrets and the uncovering of his circumstances. A secret door may indicate honor and elevation, a female slave and a boy servant. It may indicate secret charity and good dealings between him and his Lord.

Whoever sees the door of his house new, or sees a carpenter setting it up or fitting it, that is good news of health and well-being.

Whoever sees that he wants to close his door but cannot, that is a matter that becomes difficult for him on account of his wife.

Whoever sees that he came in upon people through a door will triumph over his enemies, and the arguments of his opponents will be refuted.

Whoever sees his door pulled out and another fitted in its place will sell his house. Whoever enters a room and locks its door will be protected from a sin. The door and its two knockers are two creditors demanding a debt.
