Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Turban عمامة

In a dream it is a man's crown, his standing, his strength, his governorship and his wife. Whoever among governors sees that his turban came down around his neck in coils will be dismissed from his governorship; likewise if it is snatched from his head or grabbed away. If he is not a governor, he will divorce his wife or his wealth and standing will go. Likewise, if he sees that his turban turned to gold (dhahab), his governorship, his wife, his standing or his wealth is going away (dhahiba).

(Whoever sees) that a governor wound a turban on him will take on a governorship or marry a God-fearing wife.

(Whoever sees) that a prophet wound a turban on him, or a sultan, living or dead, handed him a turban, he will appoint him to a governorship. The turban is victory.

(Whoever sees) that he put on a turban will increase in leadership and skill. If it is of khazz (silk-wool), he will increase in wealth; if of wool, he will obtain a governorship and righteousness in his religion; if of cotton, it is like wool; if of silk, it is a governorship with corruption of religion, and its money is unlawful. Whoever winds a turban over his turban, his standing will increase and he will be firmly established in his governorship.

(Whoever sees) that he is winding a turban on his head will travel in proportion to the length of the turban. A yellow turban is illness in the head, and a black one is leadership. If the king sees that his turban is like a house, or his ring like an anklet, he will be removed from his kingdom; and if he is a governor, he will be dismissed from his governorship, because that has exceeded the limit and will not last. Turbans are the crowns of the Arabs. The word 'imama (turban) may signify blindness ('ama) or a general worry (hamm 'amm). Whoever prays a prayer in a dream without a turban, doubt may enter him about his ablution, or there may be a deficiency in his bowing and prostration.

(Whoever) of the idolaters sees a turban on his head will embrace Islam, because of what has been reported: "Nothing distinguishes us from the idolaters except turbans over caps." Whoever is afraid of a man of authority and sees him in a dream with a fine turban, he will be forbearing toward him and he will be safe from his evil; likewise if there is a fine turban on his own head, he will be forbearing toward others and others will be safe from his evil.

(A man said): "I saw a large, fine turban on my head, and the funeral of a nun whom they wanted to pray over in the congregational mosque, with the muezzins proclaiming 'There is no god but God' in front of her. Then they uncovered her, and she had a black shroud, and I quarreled with the muezzins about proclaiming over her." I said to him: "You are a man who has a wife who is pleased with you and loves you, while her father is angry with you, and he has instructed some of the muezzins about separating your wife from you, and you quarreled with the muezzins about that." He said to me: "The matter is just as you said." Then he said: "And I saw glass over the eyes of that dead nun." I said to him: "That is the father, deluded by this world." He said to me: "Yes, that too." Then not many days passed before that father died.
