Handhold (loop, buttonhole) عروة

In a dream it is religion. Whoever holds fast to it has held fast to religion, because of His saying, the Exalted:

لَآ إِكْرَاهَ فِى ٱلدِّينِ ۖ قَد تَّبَيَّنَ ٱلرُّشْدُ مِنَ ٱلْغَىِّ ۚ فَمَن يَكْفُرْ بِٱلطَّـٰغُوتِ وَيُؤْمِنۢ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدِ ٱسْتَمْسَكَ بِٱلْعُرْوَةِ ٱلْوُثْقَىٰ لَا ٱنفِصَامَ لَهَا ۗ وَٱللَّهُ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

“There shall be no compulsion in [acceptance of] the religion. The right course has become distinct from the wrong. So whoever disbelieves in ṭāghūt and believes in Allāh has grasped the most trustworthy handhold with no break in it. And Allāh is Hearing and Knowing.”

Quran 2:256 · Saheeh International

Whoever clings to a loop and puts his hand into it: if he is an unbeliever, he will embrace Islam and hold fast to the firmest handhold; if he wakes up with his hand in it, he will die in Islam. The loop (buttonhole) and the button signify a man's wife: whoever sees that he is buttoning a button into a loop will marry if he is single, or will bring together a matter that had come apart. This was covered under the letter Zāy.
