Tongue لسان

In a dream it is its owner's interpreter and the manager of his affairs. The tongue is the place of sin: if he moved it, he committed a sin. If he sees an increase in his tongue in length or width, or fluency of speech in argument, it is strength for him and victory in his dispute. If he sees his tongue long, not in a state of quarrel and dispute, he is foul-mouthed. A long tongue may be victory for its owner in his eloquence and good manners. If he sees that he has two tongues, he will be granted knowledge beyond his own knowledge, an argument beyond his own argument, and strength and victory over his enemies. If the tongue is tied and he cannot speak, it is being kept from work, and it is also poverty. If black hair grows on the tongue, it is imminent evil; if it is white, it is evil deferred. The tongue is perfection, beauty, argument, conduct and renown.

(Whoever sees) his tongue cut off while he is a sultan, that goes back to his interpreter, through death or dismissal. A man's tongue is in the position of his pen. If the king's tongue grows long, his lands, his kingdom and his word will increase; if it grows so long that it reaches the sky, he will be dismissed for an injustice he committed. The tongue is interpreted as a nursing infant, a lion in a cave, and a cunning horseman: whoever lets his lion out of the cave, that is his tongue. If he sees that his tongue is lost, his nursing infant will die; likewise if he sees a horseman who has let his horse loose. If he sees that his tongue was cut off while he has a lawsuit, his argument will be refuted and he will be overpowered. Whoever cuts off the tip of his tongue and has a witness will doubt his testimony; if he is a merchant, he will lose in his trade; and if he is a seeker of knowledge, he will obtain nothing.

(Whoever sees) that he has a cave with a lion in it, the cave is his mouth and the lion is his tongue: if he lets it loose on people to devour them, he harms people with his tongue. Cutting off a poet's tongue is money that will reach him from the one who cut it.

(Whoever sees) his tongue black will become master (sawwada) over his people through his tongue; if he is one of the base, he is a liar or a poet. Whoever is afraid and sees his tongue will be overpowered and humiliated, and his affair will not be hidden from the one who informs against him. (Whoever sees) people licking or sucking his tongue, they are seeking some of his knowledge. The tongue, for a king, may signify his deputy, chamberlain, minister or scribe. It may signify hoarded wealth, standing and the knowledge that issues from him. It signifies a servant devoted to the interests of the family, or a hired worker, a house, a riding animal, a wicked enemy, a tree that bears fruit, a bad wife who does not conceive, the speech that issues from him, provision, a street sweeper, a tracker, or one who brings out hidden things. Loss of the tongue may signify the gloating of enemies among his family or neighbors, the death of someone he loves, or the cutting off of his kindness to them; his tree may stop bearing, or he may cut down a tree that does not bear fruit. Loss and cutting of the tongue may signify divorcing a wife, his speech being cut off from the place he is in, or his provision ceasing. If he sees his tongue cut off, it signifies the death of a grass cutter, a street sweeper, a tracker, a man who brings out hidden things, or an evil man. If he sees that he has (many) tongues, it signifies an increase in wealth, family or knowledge, and he may speak many languages. If he sees that he has another tongue alongside his tongue, it signifies talebearing and sowing words among people, because it is said, "So-and-so has two tongues and two faces." If the extra tongue does not prevent speech or benefit, it may signify truthfulness and affection, based on the words of God Most High:

وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ

“And grant me a mention [i.e., reputation] of honor among later generations.”
