Meat لحم

In a dream it is money if it is cooked. All raw meat is pains and illnesses, and buying it from the butcher is a calamity. Fresh meat is death. It signifies backbiting.

(Whoever sees) that he is eating human flesh is backbiting that person. Whoever eats his own flesh is consuming from his own earnings. The meat of a lean yellow cow signifies illness. Snake meat is money from an enemy; if it is raw and uncooked, it is backbiting the enemy for the one who eats it. The meat of a beast of prey is money from a sultan, and likewise the flesh of birds of prey. Pork is unlawful money. Dried, salted meat is backbiting the dead. Whoever eats lean, stringy meat will suffer a decrease in his wealth. Camel meat is money from a large, strong man who is an enemy, as long as the dreamer does not touch it; if he touches it, worry will strike him from a large man who is an enemy. Whoever eats it cooked will consume a man's money, and will fall ill and then recover. It is also said that whoever eats camel meat will obtain benefit and money from the king. Beef signifies toil and little knowledge.

(Whoever sees) in his house mutton skinned and cut into strips will connect with someone he does not know, will hold a banquet and invite people he does not know and has never seen, or will gain brothers who delight him. If he sees in his house a skinned sheep not cut up, it is a calamity that will take him by surprise. If it is fat, he will inherit money from the deceased; if it is lean, he will not inherit from him.

(Whoever sees) that he is eating raw meat, it is good; if he sees it but does not eat it, it is bad. If he sees that he ate cooked meat, his wealth will increase; if he ate it with an old man, his standing with kings will rise. Roasted beef is safety from fear; if he is expecting a child, it is a boy. It is also said that it is provision and abundance.

(Whoever sees) that he is eating the meat of a cow or a bull will be brought before a judge. Chicken signifies benefit from the direction of women. Meat may signify forbearance for those prone to anger. It signifies recovery from illnesses and the departure of worries and miseries. Meat that is unanimously agreed to be forbidden is unlawful money; meat about which scholars disagree is money or a marriage in which there is doubt. Fowl is a benefit from travel. Eating fowl may signify Paradise and what brings one near to it, based on the words of God Most High:

وَفَـٰكِهَةٍ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ ۝ وَلَحْمِ طَيْرٍ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ

“And fruit of what they select And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire.”

The meat of wild animals is lawful provision, which may come through a means involving hardship and danger. Fish is wholesome, quick, lawful provision, and may signify benefit from the direction of the sea or the sultan. Human flesh is victory over the enemy. Seeing unknown meat and blood is a sign of domination and turmoil. Bird meat, if cooked or roasted, is provision and money obtained through the cunning and treachery of a woman; if it is not done, he is backbiting a woman and wronging her. If he sees that he is eating the meat of a bird that is unlawful to eat, he is consuming the wealth of unjust, scheming people. Goose meat signifies benefit coming from religious men. The meat of roasted or fried chicks is money with toil and hardship. A person's own flesh stands for his earnings, his health and illness, his wealth, his trade, his religion, his scrupulousness and piety, his consideration of the lawful and unlawful, or his forbearance, anger, distress and joy, and what afflictions and punishments befall him.

(Whoever sees) that his flesh has increased, his livelihood will flow abundantly; if he is sick, he will recover. If he sees that his flesh has decreased, it signifies a halt in his affairs, or his illness, or a decline in his condition, his slave or his trade. If a devout worshipper sees his flesh increased, he will slacken in worship and become occupied with this world and its pleasures; if he sees it decreased, the opposite. Unknown meat signifies the estates of the dead. If he bought human flesh, he will buy unsellable merchandise. If a governor sees an increase in his flesh, his rule will become well known and his wealth will grow; he may also become fierce and his anger increase. An increase in a person's flesh may signify joys and happiness, and its decrease, worries and miseries.

(Whoever sees) his flesh black or blue, or that it is breaking off in pieces and falling from him, it signifies hardship and punishment and illness overtaking him; his ship may spring a leak, or the stuffing of his quilt or pillow may diminish. Whoever eats of the excess of his own flesh consumes the profit and keeps the capital; if he eats other than the excess, he squanders his capital or will regret something he does.
