Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Shade (shadow) ظل

In summer, in a dream, it is rest, gain, and a man of standing in whose shade one shelters. In winter it signifies worry, trouble, and a heretical innovation in which one takes refuge, or in its people. Shade signifies the sultan, because he is the shade of God on earth, as it has come in the hadith. Shade is the scholar who is a worshipper, an ascetic, and one who has memorized [the Quran].

(Whoever sees) that he took shelter in shade to rest from the heat will be saved from worry and attain provision. A woman's shade is her husband; an unmarried woman who takes shelter in shade will be married by a man of honour and wealth.

(Whoever sees) that he felt the heat of the sun and took shelter in the shade will find rest from a worry. If he was in the shade, felt cold and sat in the sun, his poverty will go, because cold is poverty.
