Darkness ظلمة

Darkness in a dream is going astray and confusion. Whoever comes out of darkness into light will embrace Islam if he is an unbeliever, or repent if he is a sinner; and if he is imprisoned, he will be saved from the darkness of prison. Darkness also signifies injustice (zulm, a word sharing the root of zulma, darkness), so whoever enters darkness is an oppressor.

(Whoever sees) darkness: it is injustice. Seeing darkness indicates darkness of the heart and of the sight. It may signify withdrawing and hiding from people for something one wishes to keep hidden. It may signify the dominance of black bile (melancholy), or associating with dark-skinned or Black people and preferring them over others. Darkness, or Black people, may also signify sallowness (a yellowish, sickly complexion).
