Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Shackle (iron collar) غل

In a dream it is unlawful gain, because of His saying, the Exalted:

وَمَا كَانَ لِنَبِىٍّ أَن يَغُلَّ ۚ وَمَن يَغْلُلْ يَأْتِ بِمَا غَلَّ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ ۚ ثُمَّ تُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّا كَسَبَتْ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ

“It is not [attributable] to any prophet that he would act unfaithfully [in regard to war booty]. And whoever betrays, [taking unlawfully], will come with what he took on the Day of Resurrection. Then will every soul be [fully] compensated for what it earned, and they will not be wronged.”

Quran 3:161 · Saheeh International

[wordplay: ghull "shackle" / ghulūl "embezzling"].

Whoever sees that he is shackled and fettered while he is an unbeliever is being called to Islam.

Whoever sees that his hand is shackled to his neck will obtain wealth from which he does not pay what is due to God the Exalted. If he sees that both his hands are shackled, he is a miser. If he sees that his hand was shackled to his neck, that is refraining from sins. If he sees that he was seized and shackled, he will fall into prison or into hardship. The shackle is also marriage, and it signifies a deed that is not righteous.

Whoever sees that he is shackled and the shackle is a sājūr, which is iron around the outside with wood in the middle, it signifies his hypocrisy.
