Sieve غربال

In a dream it signifies knowledge, discernment, might, high position, and distinguishing truth from falsehood. The sieve is like the assayer of coins, the one who chooses carefully among words and deeds and separates them from one another, good from bad, fine from coarse. It is a man scrupulous in his earnings. The sieve is also interpreted as a comb if we interpret hair (shaʿr) as barley (shaʿīr), because the comb cleans dirt out of hair, and likewise the sieve removes the chaff from barley. Whoever is given a promise and the one who promised gives him a sieve, he will break his promise and not keep it, just as a sieve does not hold water.
