Severing of ties (estrangement) قطيعة

In a dream, toward those whom God the Exalted has commanded to be kept in ties, it signifies going astray. Qati'a may also signify paying the jizya [poll tax], because it is a levy [qati'a] imposed on the protected non-Muslims. It may signify what brings about division and mutual shunning. He said, may God bless him and grant him peace: 'Do not cut one another off, and do not turn your backs on one another.'
