Satan (devil) شيطان

In a dream he is an enemy in religion and worldly life, scheming, deceitful, greedy, stubborn, heedless and unconcerned. He may be a prince, a minister, a judge, a policeman, a jurist, a preacher, an unbeliever, a hypocrite or an envier; and he may be one's family and dependants. Seeing Satan is (wanton) joy, excess and lust, just as lust is excess and a devil [wordplay: shaytan and shatat, excess].

Whoever sees that Satan is striking him into confusion (as one possessed) is consuming usury. If he sees Satan before him (at his feet), he has an enemy who slanders his wife and tries to lead her astray; and if he is ill or grieving, he will be provided for and granted wealth. If he sees that a touch from Satan has befallen him while he is remembering God the Exalted, his enemies are many and want to lead him astray and destroy him, but they will not be able to.

Whoever sees that Satan is following him, his enemy will pursue him, delude him, lead him astray, and cause him to fall from his rank and his knowledge.

Whoever sees that he is conversing secretly with Satan is conversing secretly with one of his enemies, and will set out to overpower righteous people but will not be able to.

Whoever sees that Satan is teaching him something will speak fabricated words, or plot against people, or recite lying poems.

Whoever sees that Satan descended upon him will incur falsehood and sin.

Whoever sees that he leads the devils and owns them and they obey him will attain leadership, nobility, awe and rank, and will overcome his enemies, and they will submit to him.

Whoever sees that he has shackled and chained the devils will attain victory, strength and renown.

Whoever sees that the devils have tempted him and led him astray will suffer a loss in his wealth or an estate; and if he is a ruler, he will be removed.

Whoever sees that Satan stripped him of his clothes, an enemy will overcome him in his affairs, or (Satan) will whisper to him and he will be removed from his office.

Whoever sees that he is at enmity with Satan is a sincere believer, obedient to God the Exalted and firm in his religion.

Whoever sees that Satan frightened him is one of the sincere friends of God the Exalted whom God the Exalted has made safe from fear and from Satan.

Whoever sees a piercing shooting star pursuing a devil, there is in that quarter a man who is an enemy of God the Exalted and of the ruler, whose secrets the king and the judge will discover; a penalty from God the Exalted will strike him, and a punishment from the ruler, after burning.

Whoever sees Satan joyful and glad will become occupied with lusts. Satan is a weak enemy. Whoever sees that he takes Satan as an enemy is a man of religion and obedience to his Lord.

Whoever sees that a devil has entered his body, or that Satan has swallowed him into his belly: if he is traveling by sea, shipwreck is feared for him; and if he is on land, evils are feared for him and harm and injury will befall him. Seeing devils may signify builders and divers, and they signify spies and eavesdroppers; seeing them may also signify backbiting and slander.

Whoever sees that he has become a devil will toy with people and hasten to harm them, or he will become a sweeper who cleans out channels and drains, that is, repairs them; or he may die by burning, or be led astray from his religion.
