(Peace be upon him.) Seeing him in a dream indicates kingship and succession to rule. There may be in his time high prices and drought, and the loss of family, relatives and children, and the dreamer will be schemed against. Seeing him indicates imprisonment and release from it, drought, and good fortune with women because of his comeliness and beauty. Seeing him may indicate the science of dreams and the interpretation of visions. He may triumph over his enemy and pardon him, and his children will be good. Seeing him may indicate the digging of seas and rivers, or managing waters, or moving the dead from one land to another. A great miracle may appear for him, as with his father's sight being restored (peace be upon them both) by the shirt he sent to him. His shirt in a dream indicates the departure of worries and sorrows and recovery from illnesses; if there is blood on it, it indicates separation and prison; if it is torn, it indicates an accusation. If a woman sees Joseph (peace be upon him), her blessings will cease, her sight will be blinded, her ways will become narrow, and she will be filled with love for men of rank; if she is in any of that, God will accept her repentance and she will reach her aim, or marry if she is unmarried, become rich if she is poor, and her outcome in this world and the next will be good. If a child sees him, his share among his brothers will be diminished.
(Whoever sees) Joseph (peace be upon him) will be lied about, wronged and imprisoned, and hardship will befall him; then after that he will gain dominion and attain victory, honor and children, and friends and relatives will submit to him, because his brothers submitted to him; and he will give much charity and do much good.
(Whoever sees) Joseph (peace be upon him) will suffer affliction and trial from his brothers through a scheme they plot against him, until he is imprisoned; then he will be saved from that prison, God Most High will grant him devotion, honor him with remembrance and praise, help him and strengthen him after his weakness; he will triumph over all his enemies, give them gifts and pardon them.
(Whoever sees) Joseph (peace be upon him) speaking to him or giving him something will become an interpreter of dreams, knowledgeable in the science of history.
(Whoever sees) Joseph (peace be upon him) will attain good in his exile. If he is imprisoned, he will be freed from his prison; his enemies will submit to him and he will triumph over them. If he is absent, he will return to his homeland safely. If he seeks leadership, he will attain it. If one who seeks to marry a woman or to buy a beautiful slave girl sees him, he will possess her and attain his desire from her.
