Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

David (the Prophet) داود عليه السلام

Peace be upon him. Whoever sees him in a dream will obtain strength and authority, fall into a mistaken matter and then regret it and become ascetic, and be tried by an unjust ruler, then God the Exalted will save him from him, give him the upper hand over him and grant him victory over him, and God will grant him kingship and nobility.

It is said: whoever sees David, peace be upon him, there will be in that town a just king, an excellent chief, or a wise and fair judge. If the chief of that town is unjust, God the Exalted will replace him with a just chief; if it is an unjust judge, God the Exalted will put in his place a judge who is just in his rulings. If the dreamer is fit for judgeship, he will attain it. Seeing David, peace be upon him, signifies the caliphate. It may signify being tested by women and miseries from their side. Seeing him may signify recitation, glorification of God, delight, and melodious chanting in recitation. Seeing him signifies abandoning sins, repentance and returning [to God]; calamities may become light for him. Seeing him signifies a good outcome.

Whoever sees that he was transformed into the form of David, peace be upon him, or wore one of his garments: if he is one fit for judgeship and government, he will attain that; if that does not befit him, then if his livelihood and craft are from iron or with it, he will gain money; if he has nothing of that, then if he is a righteous man, he is given glad tidings of increase in good and much weeping, humility and grief; and if he is an unjust oppressor and sees him grieving him, threatening him, or frowning in his face, let him fear God the Exalted and set his affairs right.
