Dates تمر

In a dream, for one who sees them, they are rain; and for one who eats them, a general, pure provision that will come to him and in which no one will share with him. Their interpretation may be that he will recite the Quran and it will benefit him in his religion. Buried dates are stored-up wealth, and likewise sugarcane. Scattered dates are dirhams that do not last. Whoever eats poor-quality dates (daqal) is one of the protected non-Muslim subjects.

(Whoever sees) that (dates come to him), money will come to him from men of high standing who hold office. A measure of dates is spoils. Whoever picks dates in their season from a palm tree will marry a wealthy, noble woman with much sharpness of temper, abundant in good and blessing; or he will obtain money from noble men without toil; or he may gain knowledge. If it is out of season, he will hear knowledge and not act on it. If he shook fresh dates down onto himself from a dry palm tree, he will learn beneficial knowledge from a hypocritical man; and if he is in distress or worry, it will be lifted from him, because of the story of Mary (peace be upon her):

وَهُزِّىٓ إِلَيْكِ بِجِذْعِ ٱلنَّخْلَةِ تُسَـٰقِطْ عَلَيْكِ رُطَبًا جَنِيًّا

“And shake toward you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates.”

Quran 19:25 · Saheeh International

(the verse). If a woman sees that she is eating dates with tar, she will take an inheritance from her husband while she is secretly divorced from him, and the inheritance is unlawful. If a man sees that, his wife is secretly divorced from him. If a person sees that he took a date, split it and removed its pit, a child will be born to him.

Dates are interpreted as good, lawful provision.

(Whoever sees) that he is eating good dates will hear good words and obtain great benefit.

(Whoever sees) that he is burying dates will obtain money from the treasuries or from the wealth of orphans, or he is storing money.

(Whoever sees) that he is eating forty dates at the sultan's gate when it is not the season for dates to appear or ripen will be struck forty lashes.

(Whoever sees) that he ate forty dates when it is the season of their ripening will obtain forty thousand dirhams.

(Whoever sees) baskets of barni dates falling from the bellies of pigs while he picks them up and carries them to his house, it is spoils from the wealth of unbelievers.

(Whoever sees) that he is sucking a date and giving it to another who sucks it, he will share with him in a small kindness.

(Whoever sees) that he ate dates will find the sweetness of faith.

(Whoever sees) that he split a date and separated its pit from it will be blessed with a child.
