Column (pillar) عمود

In a dream it is religion. Whoever sees a column come down from the sky, God the Exalted will bless him with a just, kind and forbearing ruler.

Whoever sees that he struck with a column or was struck with one, it is words by which the striker rebukes the one struck; if he wounds him with it, harm will come upon him.

Whoever sees that he was struck with a column: if he is a slave, he will be sold and his price taken; if he is free, it is feared he will be taken captive and sold as slaves are sold.

Whoever sees that he leaned against the base of a column, or bought it, or it was given to him, will lean upon an old woman or marry an elderly woman, because of His saying, the Exalted:

“And women of post-menstrual age who have no desire for marriage - there is no blame upon them for putting aside their outer garments [but] not displaying adornment. But to modestly refrain [from that] is better for them. And Allāh is Hearing and Knowing.”

Quran 24:60 · Saheeh International

[al-qawāʿid means both "bases" and "women past childbearing"]. The column is someone who is relied upon and leaned on.

Whoever sees that a column has tilted from its place: if he is a governor, his official has inclined toward opposition, hypocrisy and departure from his obedience; if he is an official, his ruler will change toward him, turn against him and show him what he dislikes; if he is a slave, his master will come to dislike him and perhaps sell him. Columns signify men relied upon to ward off danger and to handle important affairs.

Whoever sees that he owns columns, or sees himself as one of the columns: if he is fit for kingship he will rule, or he will be a pillar (ʿumda) relied upon; if he is a scholar, the people of religion will gather around him. The column is also a father, a child, wealth, a partner, a riding animal, a wife or property.

Whoever sees that he himself has become a column will die and be carried between the poles (of the bier). A column is also tears, because the word is derived from it. A marble column is great wealth, or a man or woman of nobility; if it is of granite, perhaps the person is not noble or is lowly in himself; if it is of stone, he changes quickly and has no constancy; if it is of wood, he is a hypocrite. If a column of the congregational mosque tilts from its place, it is one of the ruler's men who departs from obedience to him. If it is a column of a mosque, it is its imam, its muezzin, or whoever maintains and serves it; likewise if it rose up to the sky and disappeared into it, or fell into a well or pit and did not reappear. If it is a column of a church, it is the death of an unbeliever or of an innovator, such as a monk or a deacon.
