Seeing him in a dream indicates good, blessing, worship, old age, provision, selflessness, concern for noble buildings, righteous offspring, enjoining good and forbidding evil, knowledge and guidance, and forsaking one's family and relatives in obedience to God the Exalted. Seeing him, peace be upon him, indicates a compassionate father, because he is the father of Islam and the one who named us Muslims. Seeing him may indicate falling into hardships and escaping them safely. Seeing him may indicate distress undergone for the sake of reconciling between people or for some good he hopes for. If the dreamer is versed in the stars or in the science of dreams, an error or flaw will enter into that. Seeing him may indicate law-giving, guarding the good, and forsaking bad companions. For one whom he touches, seeing him may indicate love for God the Exalted; and if he touches one of the dreamer's limbs and the dreamer suffers in that limb, God the Exalted will heal him and remove his complaint. Seeing him also indicates the Hajj. If a woman sees Abraham, peace be upon him, in her dream, she will be made miserable by her husband on account of one of her children, or some hardship will befall one of her children and he will come through it safely. If the dreamer has children, it may indicate that one of them will divorce his wife on his account. Whoever in his dream becomes Abraham, peace be upon him, or becomes his companion, it indicates affliction from enemies, but he will be given victory. He may take charge of an office or the leadership of prayer and be just in it, or keep company with such a person, or be granted children after despairing of them. Messengers of great men may come to him with glad tidings.
Whoever sees Abraham, peace be upon him, will triumph over his enemies, obtain a believing wife, and be struck by hardship and distress from a king, and be saved from it. Whoever sees him calling him to himself and answers him saying "Here I am" and hastens to him, his rank will be raised. If he sees him calling him and he does not answer him, or sees him threatening and warning him, or sees him frowning, then he is either holding back from the Hajj though he has the means to it, or abandoning prayer, or reviling the imam, or a hypocrite. If a disbeliever sees him, he will embrace Islam; if a sinner, he will repent; if one who abandons prayer, he will return to it. Whoever is transformed into the form of Abraham, peace be upon him, or wears his garment, will be struck by a trial. Seeing him may indicate the departure of grief and worry, the attainment of good, obtaining an ample worldly life, and guidance. It is also said that seeing Abraham, peace be upon him, means undutifulness toward one's father.
