Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Year (sanah) سنة

It is the year (al-'am, al-hawl). Seeing it in a dream may signify drought and famine. Seeing the year may signify doubt and uncertainty in religion, or seeing it may signify hardship and threat. Seeing it may also signify an increase in knowledge. Seeing a hawl [a full year's cycle] in a dream is a sign of a change in circumstances, and seeing an 'am [year] is a sign of a trial (fitnah) the dreamer sees in himself or in others. If he sees the year ('am) while people are in famine, it signifies an abundance of good. [Note: in Arabic, sanah also means "year of drought" while 'am is associated with relief, hence the contrasting readings.]
