Walnut جوز

In a dream it is hoarded wealth. If you hear it rattling, it is a dispute and clamor. The walnut tree is a non-Arab man who is stingy, ill-tempered, difficult, and has growing, well-guarded wealth.

Whoever sees that he is on a walnut tree will attach himself to a powerful non-Arab man of the kind I have described. If he comes down from it, what is between him and the man he attached himself to will not be completed. If he falls from it and dies, he will be killed confronting a powerful man or a king. If the tree breaks, that powerful man will perish, and the one who fell from it will take over his dominion. If he saw that he died when he fell, [but] he did not die, he will escape.

If he sees that his hands and feet broke at that moment, he will come close to perishing and a great affliction will befall him, but he will escape afterward.

Whoever sees that he cut down a walnut tree will kill a non-Arab man. The walnut, which is the fruit, is wealth that comes out only through toil and fatigue, because the walnut is not eaten until it is cracked and its oil does not come out except by pressing.

If he sees that he gathered walnuts from an orchard, he will obtain money through a woman. If they are shelled, it is sufficient provision. If he eats walnut shells, he will backbite a stingy man. If a woman scatters them over him, she will burn his clothes.

Whoever sees that he is playing with walnuts is plunging into unlawful wealth. Shelled walnuts are provision. Walnuts represent righteous people, chiefs and brothers. Walnuts are interpreted as health of the body and a long journey. If the dreamer is a woman, walnuts signify a long life. The walnut [jawz] signifies a husband [zawj], because its letters are reversed, and the passing [jawaz] of difficult matters. Cracked walnuts are wealth without toil. The Indian nut [coconut] signifies the speech of soothsayers.

Whoever sees that he ate of it, people will believe him.

Whoever sees that he became a soothsayer will eat coconuts. It is said that the coconut is an astrologer.

Whoever sees that he ate it will become an astrologer. The coconut is called narjil. Some said it is wealth from a non-Arab man, and it is said it signifies an astrologer.

Whoever sees that he is eating coconut will learn the science of the stars or follow an astrologer in his opinion. The narjil, which is the coconut, signifies inflammation and fire, from its name [nar = fire] and its nature, and fire in the bowels, or non-Arab merchants.
